Auslese [OWS-lay-zuh] means “selected from the harvest,”. This wine is made from very ripe clusters that are about 50 percent affected by botrytis. The resulting wine is dense, intensely flavoured and rich on the palate. Dusty floral perfume juxtaposes struck flint and slate on the nose of this deft, dainty Auslese. Pristine tangerine and apricot flavours are ripe but crisp, highlighted by a bristling stream of acidity. Exotic spice and dusty pollen notes reverberate warmly on the finish.
