Previously only released as part of single casks, Nikka decided to add their Coffey Malt to their core range in 2014. Distilled in a Coffey still normally used for grain whisky production, the malt is robust and spicy with a rich, dense mouthfeel and texture, it has cinnamon and clove on the palate with a citrus-tinged freshness to lighten the load. The finish is a harmonious blend of dense spices, rich oak, and lemon and orange notes. Quite delightful.
