A super value everyday red, far better than most Montepulciano d’Abruzzo wines for the price, this is made by Giovanni Barba at his family’s sizeable estate which dates from the 18th Century and includes olive, dairy and orchard fruit production as well as grapes. Smooth and juicy with plenty of ripe, dark cherry and plum fruit and some soft earthy spice.
