The Palacio de Fefiñanes estate – the benchmark Galician producer – was the first to bottle Albariño in 1928 and its winery was custom-built to be squeezed inside a 17th-century palace. The renaissance inspired palace is located on an historic square which is considered to be one of the most beautiful squares in the whole of Galicia.
Thanks to an Atlantic breeze, this Albariño shares the same lively, mineral-laden quality of good, bone-dry Riesling. Although it can equally be enjoyed young and fresh, two years in the cellar have brought out its wonderful viscosity and fleshiness. The soul-mate of seafood, Albariño pairs beautifully with clams, lobster, fish, mussels, and oysters, but this is also excellent with Asian cuisine, beef or tuna tartare.
