Domaine Matray St Amour 2023

From a winemaking family spanning 5 generations, Lilian Matray, his wife Sandrine and his daughter Célia work the family domaine. All the grapes are picked manually as the Beaujolais semi carbonic winemaking process requires that the bunches be whole. Pressing is after 8 days in vat, followed by malo-lactic fermentation and maturing in vats. The variety of the soils give the very typical, fruity Beaujolais aromas and flavours of each specific appellation.

This charmingly-named Cru will seduce you with its ruby red and its intense red fruit aromas and flavours that combine suppleness and finesse which is both smooth and elegant. Warming and with good length.
