SMOS Ledaig 2005 18 Year Old

From the Gaelic, meaning ‘safe haven’, Ledaig is the old name for Tobermory distillery. This dram exemplifies the smoky whisky it produces with flavours of earth and tarred rope. Rich with peat smoke and salted caramel cooking in a cast iron pan it has hints of elderflower that develop over time. Great depth while still having a wonderful minerality. The smoke is dark and broody but countered by caramel sweetness and lime zest.
