Taron Pantocrator Rioja Reserva 2010

Bodegas Taron is the northernmost winery in Rioja, lying very close to the Obarenes Mountains and surrounding four small villages with a long history of grape growing.

Pantocrator Rioja is only made in exceptional vintages and the 2010 vintage was awarded 97 points at the 2021 Decanter World Wine Awards. 100% Tempranillo, the grapes come from Bodegas Taron’s best vineyards, with an average age of 50 years.

The wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks for one year, before ageing in American oak barrels for two years. It then spent a further six years in bottle before being released to the market.

Deep cherry red in colour. Intense aromas of cherry and spice with light notes of eucalyptus and liquorice. On the palate, firm but elegant and silky tannins and vibrant acidity give this red wine structure, balance and complexity. The sensations of ripe red fruit and spice remain for a long time.

Perfect paired with red meat, hearty stews, and cured cheese. Drink now or until 2035.
